Good news! As of July 1, 2023, Tricorp will comply with the UPV obligations!
The Extended Producer Responsibility (UPV) regulations stimulate sustainable production within the Dutch textile sector. This means: producing less waste and making more use of recycled textiles.
How does Tricorp respond to this? We opt for a collective, national approach. Together with more than 500 other companies, we have signed the provisional agreement with the UPV Textiel Foundation. As a result, 60% of all textiles entering the Dutch market are currently represented by the UPV regulations. The UPV Textiel Foundation is committed to achieving various goals. Those goals are divided into two parts:
By 2025:
50% reuse and recycling, of which:
- At least 20% reuse and 30% recycling;
- At least 10% reuse in the Netherlands;
- At least 1/4 of the recycling concerns high-quality fiber-to-fiber recycling
By 2030:
75% reuse and recycling, of which:
- At least 25% reuse and 50% recycling;
- At least 15% reuse in the Netherlands;
- At least 1/3 of the recycling concerns high-quality fiber-to-fiber recycling.
