What requirements should work clothing for a painter meet?
Painters' work clothing does not simply consist of one outfit. One day a painter works in the blazing sun, while the next day he or she stands in an ice-cold factory hall. A painter must therefore be prepared for every situation. And there are different requirements for work clothing for every situation. We put together the ideal wardrobe for you!
Adapt work clothes to temperature
In most cases, a cotton T-shirt or polo in combination with sturdy shorts or long work trousers is sufficient. If the ambient temperature changes, different work clothing is the solution. Because painters often work in different environments and temperatures (outside, inside, summer, winter), it is important that this is taken into account when purchasing work clothing. More layers keep out the cold and wind.
The. is especially for painters Tricorp Tech Shell available in white color. This work jacket is wind and waterproof, so it protects you from wind and weather. The Tech Shell is also very lightweight and therefore very comfortable to wear.
There are special ones for working in the sun shirts with UV block which also have a breathing and cooling effect.
Good fit
It is important that painter's clothing is not too loose. Painters often work on ladders or scaffolding with protruding elements. If your clothing is too loose, this can lead to dangerous situations. That is why we advise painters to choose slim fit work clothing.
Why white clothes?
Although painter's clothing is available in all kinds of colors, white work clothing is often preferred. This has several reasons.
First, painters used to wear white work clothes so that the color of the clothes did not affect the paint during mixing. For example, wearing red work clothes gave a pink cast to the paint. Although most paints today are mixed automatically, a painter may still need to mix his own paint.
Secondly, the sunlight reflecting off your work clothes can influence the color of your work environment. For example, if you wear an orange overall, an orange glow will appear on the wall or ceiling. That is quite inconvenient when you are whitewashing the wall.
Thirdly, painters often work with hazardous substances, such as thinner. It is useful to be able to see immediately if such substances come on your clothing.
