At Tricorp we believe that work clothing can be smarter, more sustainable and future-proof; that is why we strive for 100% sustainable work clothing. But what is sustainable workwear and why is it so important?
The clothing industry is responsible for around 20% of global wastewater and 8% of all CO₂ emissions. This makes it one of the most polluting sectors in the world, alongside the oil industry. The impact is big, and that is precisely why we have to think even bigger. We know that things have to be different. And it's possible to do otherwise.
To make the clothing industry less polluting, it is necessary to focus on a circular system instead of the traditional, linear model in which products are made, used and discarded. A system in which materials last as long as possible: by reuse, repair or recycle. The result? Less waste, less impact and more value from every raw material. This creates a circular economy: a smart way of producing and consuming in which raw materials and energy are used efficiently and waste is prevented.
Within this system there are 3 strategies that Tricorp uses:
1) Using responsible materials: The most impact can be achieved before a fabric is created. At Tricorp we therefore use organic cotton, recycled polyester and recycled polyamide. Our new collection REDEFINED consists entirely of these substances.
2) Ensuring a longer lifespan: if workwear doesn't last long, it's not good for the world. That is why Tricorp uses the best fabrics and technologies, such as Cordura and Polygiene, to extend the lifespan of work clothing as long as possible.
3) Use of materials that can also be recycled after use: our sustainable work clothing is designed in such a way that it can be recycled again after use. Curious about the possibilities? Read here further.
Companies that take this step contribute to a cleaner, fairer and future-proof clothing industry. And that is exactly what we at Tricorp strive for every day: work clothing that not only performs on the work floor, but also for the world beyond.
In this way we ensure that responsible production takes place throughout the chain. Our products are made under good and safe conditions, with respect for everyone and according to a clear Code of Conduct. All our suppliers are affiliated with Amfori BSCI and we strive for at least a BSCI score B. This score is regularly reviewed so that suppliers are encouraged to continuously improve, follow training and actively contribute to social and environmental themes.
Our latest collection REDEFINED consists entirely of recycled raw materials, such as recycled polyester, organic cotton and recycled polyamide, and each item is also provided with a Digital Product Passport and an impact sheet; This way, you as a user quickly and easily gain insight into the origin, composition and environmental impact of each product and we build future-proof workwear step by step: for professionals like you and for the world around us.
