You have probably already seen it in our webshop: Cordura workwear. Tricorp uses the wear-resistant fabric Cordura in various products. But what exactly is that substance? You can read more about this in this article. We also give you an overview of our Cordura collection.

WHAT IS CORDURA?

Cordura is a brand name for various types of textiles. These types of textiles have one important common property: they are able to withstand heavy loads. The basic fabric of Cordura is nylon 6.6. It is lightweight, yet very robust.

THE HISTORY OF CORDURA

Cordura was developed in 1929 by the DuPont company and is now produced by Invista. It was initially mainly used for military purposes. Since the 1970s it has been possible to dye Cordura in any desired color. This also made the material interesting for the commercial market. Nowadays Cordura is used in work clothing that involves heavy work. Manufacturers also regularly use Cordura in motorcycle clothing, backpacks and work shoes.

TEAR RESISTANT AND WEAR RESISTANT

The main characteristic of Cordura is that it is resistant to abrasive loads. This means that it is resistant to wear and tear due to abrasion. Cordura is also cut and tear resistant. The PU coating also makes the fabric waterproof, dirt-repellent and breathable at the same time.

TRICORP WORKWEAR WITH CORDURA

The above-mentioned characteristics make Cordura very suitable for use in vulnerable areas of work clothing. In practice, it appears that work clothing with Cordura lasts much longer than work clothing without this strong fabric. Below is an overview of Tricorp work clothing in which Cordura has been used.

CORDURA WORK TROUSERS

Cordura is used for the knee pads and bottom of work trousers. This part wears out very quickly during some activities, for example in construction. Tricorp offers various durable work trousers with Cordura. There is a suitable pair of wear-resistant work trousers for every application:

SWING POCKETS

Our swing pockets offer you extra storage space, for example for your tools. Because in practice heavy tools are regularly taken in and out of these extra trouser pockets, they must also be wear-resistant. You can perfectly match your wear-resistant Cordura swing pockets work trousers. We have three available variants for this:

Swing Pockets Cordura: The standard swing pockets with loops
Swing Pockets Cordura (washable at 60 degrees): Available in 11 different colors and has a handy clip attachment
Swing Pockets High Vis Bicolor: To combine with our High Vis work trousers

CORDURA OVERALLS

Tricorp has two types of overalls in its collection with Cordura on the knee pads. These are designed for the professional. This means that a lot of attention has been paid to wearing comfort and that with our overalls you have maximum freedom of movement.

Within our 20/20 Vision collection with high visibility clothing you will also find overalls, overalls (also known as dungarees) and body trousers that have wear-resistant Cordura knee patches:

PARKA CORDURA

Not only the knee patches on work trousers, but also the sleeves on your work jacket can wear out faster due to your work. Tricorp has a solution for this in the form of Parka Cordura. This wear-resistant work jacket is ideal for rugged outdoor work.
